The Eritrean Refugee University Graduates and Students Association (ERUGSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Eritrean refugee students and graduates. We focus on education, leadership development, and advocacy to build a resilient and thriving community, while also providing support to Eritrean refugees in camps, helping them access opportunities and resources for a better future. What projects do we undertake?

Our primary focus is on projects that support Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia and Sudan. This support can take the form of educational, material, or psychological assistance, provided either by our association or through collaborations with individuals and organizations sharing our mission.

Who funds these projects?

Funding for our projects comes from within our association or through contributions from collaborators. To date, we have partnered with various organizations and individuals. Projects may involve financial funding or non-monetary contributions. If you have an idea to share, whether or not it requires funding, we welcome your collaboration at any time!A

Women Empowerment Project

A training project in Addis Ababa aims to empower vulnerable Eritrean refugee women by providing vocational skills in makeup artistry and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). This two-month initiative seeks to address both economic and psychological challenges faced by participants, equipping 20 women with makeup techniques, including everyday, bridal, and party styles, while fostering resilience through psychosocial interventions....read more

Awareness Events

Our campaigns aim to raise awareness about refugee issues and promote understanding within the community through educational blogs and engaging events.

We regularly organize awareness sessions either via Zoom or in person. The lectures are delivered by our members or by inviting professionals from various fields of study who share their expertise and experiences with our team. We also share these sessions on our social media platforms.
